Murray State held on to defeat Southeast Missouri State, 17-10, Saturday at Stewart Stadium. The Redhawks pulled to within seven points with 4:12 remaining and got the ball back after a defensive stop, but were unable to score before time ran out.

Murray State got out to a 3-0 lead on a 24-yard field goal by Kienan Cullen with 2:58 left in the first quarter. Both defenses stepped up and made the score hold up until halftime.

The Racers increased their lead to 17-0 with two third quarter touchdowns. Derrick Townsel returned a punt 64 yards for a score and Charlie Jordan added a 6-yard touchdown run.

Doug Spad got Southeast on the scoreboard with a 25-yard field goal with 9:09 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Timmy Holloman scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 4:12 left in the game to cut the lead in half. The score was set up by a blocked a punt that was recovered at the Murray State 5-yard line.

Houston Lilllard finished 15-for-25 passing for 175 yards passing for the Redhawks.
