Governor-elect Jay Nixon (D-MO) has announced the leadership of his transition team.

Nixon transition team: (l-r Philip Snowden, John Watson, Governor-elect Jay Nixon, Charles Burson, Nadia Cavner, Ronnie White) John Watson, Nixon’s Chief of Staff in the Attorney General’s Office since 1997, will hold onto that post in the Governor’s Office. Charles Burson of St. Louis will serve as Transition Director. During the Clinton Administration Burson served as Chief of Staff to Vice President Al Gore and advisor to President Clinton. Prior to that he was the Attorney General of Tennessee.

There will be three co-chairs of the transition team: former Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronnie White of St. Louis, former State Representative and State Senator Philip Snowden of Kansas City, and investment advisor Nadia Cavner of Springfield.

Nixon says there is no point in wasting any time in getting ready to move into the Governor’s Office in January. He says the team is looking for the best and brightest from this state and from this region of the country.
