K-State’s Prince fired

November 5, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

After just two plus seasons at the helm of the Kansas State Wildcat football program, head coach Ron Prince was fired on Wednesday by athletic director Bob Krause.  Prince will finish out the season and be on the sidelines when K-State visits Mizzou.

Prince was 16-18, and the Wildcats have lost three in a row and were 1-4 in Big 12 play this year.  Prince was given a raise in August and even as late as last month, Krause denied that he was close to firing Prince.

K-State is currently ranked 108th in total defense, giving up 33.7 points and 444.7 yards per game. In the Wildcats’ five losses, the opposition has scored 220 points.  Last week’s loss to Kansas was the final straw.

Prince, a native of Kansas, took over the program from long time coach Bill Snyder.
