Freshman Marcus Denmon scored a game high 36 points on 14-of-17 shooting to lift the Missouri Black squad to a 110-84 win over Missouri Gold Wednesday night in the annual Black & Gold Game at Mizzou Arena.

Denmon scored 19 of his points in the second half on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 shooting from three-point range.  Senior forward Leo Lyons scored 16 second-half tallies and finished the night with 20 points and a game high nine boards to narrowly miss a double-double.

Freshman Laurence Bowers added 15 points and eight rebounds, while junior newcomer Zaire Taylor chipped in 15 points, five assists and five rebounds. Matt Lawrence’s 13 points and five assists rounded out the double-figure scorers for Mizzou Black.

DeMarre Carroll led Mizzou Gold with 20 points, highlighted by a strong 8-of-11 shooting night from the foul stripe. Freshman Kim English scored 14 second-half tallies en route to 17 points and was matched by Tiller, who had 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and just one turnover.

Missouri opens exhibition play on Nov. 6 against the Lincoln Blue Tigers out of Jefferson City, Mo. Game time from Mizzou Arena is slated for 7 p.m. Missouri concludes exhibition play on Nov. 11, before opening regular-season play Nov. 15 against Prairie View A&M.
