Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Joe Biden tells an Arnold audience that John McCain’s effort to create a new identity for himself is not going to fool people. Biden says that McCain has spent time arguing that the Obama-Biden ticket is not running against George Bush, and recently criticized the Busch budget and fiscal policies.

"I know Halloween’s coming tomorrow night," he told the crowd, "But John McCain dressed up as an agent of change–that costume doesn’t fit…Folks ain’t gonna buy that costume. He’s a good guy but agent of change, that’s not what John is."

Biden says McCain as recently as last weekend said he and President Bush shared a common philosophy. He says he and Presidential candidate Barack Obama agree with McCain that they are not running against President Bush. But he says the Obama-Biden ticket is campaigning against the Bush economic policies that McCain wants to continue. such as policies that call for tax cuts for companies that send jobs overseas and provide "no relief" for many working families, and give four billion dollars a year to major oil companies.

Biden says McCain is not a maverick, as McCain and running mate Sarah Palin claim. He says McCain can’t call himself a maverick when he has spent the last eight years being a George Bush sidekick. "It’s not a bad thing; It’s just the wrong thing," says Biden, "We don’t need four more years of sidekicks.: .
