Former U.S. Senator John Danforth (R-MO) is keeping up the criticism of the community organizing group ACORN and its voter registration efforts. Danforth, who is working for the McCain campaign, has no doubt that ACORN is involved in what he calls "widespread election misdeeds."

And, he is rejecting a request from ACORN that he meet with the group to discuss what it sees as intimidation and voter suppression efforts. Danforth believes the McCain and Obama campaigns should get together to discuss voter fraud and how to address the concern. But Danforth says the Obama campaign has taken the position that it is not interested in getting together with the McCain officials to discuss the issue.

As for how states are addressing voter fraud concerns, Danforth says Missouri is doing a good job of dealing with the issue. But Danforth fears the best efforts of election authorities could be sidelined by many phony registrations gumming up the works on Election Day.
