Ongoing allegations of voter fraud have some Missourians expressing concerns about Missouri voter rolls and whether they are fraud free. Laura Egerdal with the Secretary of State’s Office says the state is taking steps to fight voter fraud and attempts at illegal balloting thanks to a new statewide data base known as the Missouri Centralized Voter Registration (MCVR).

She points to recent cheating attempts in Kansas City and how the attempts were foiled by the new database, which led to the would-be cheaters being discovered.

Anyone who is registering to vote will automatically be entered in the data base. If the voter moves to a new location and reregisters, the information from his or her previous location will be stricken from the rolls. Any voter registration cards that contain questionable information will be flagged, with the voter contacted by local election authorities before the information is processed.
