The University of Missouri has signed Head Baseball Coach Tim Jamieson to a contract extension that will keep Jamieson at Mizzou through the 2013 season.
Jamieson will enter his 15th season as the Tigers’ head coach next spring with a record of 480-329-2. He needs just two victories to move into second place on the all-time wins list at Mizzou, passing former coach John "Hi" Simmons.
Under Jamieson, the Tigers have advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times, including each of the last six years. Mizzou is one of just 16 programs that have qualified for the postseason in each of the last six seasons and is one of just two Big 12 teams that can make the claim. In 2006, Jamieson led the Tigers to their first NCAA Regional title, winning the Malibu Regional as a four-seed.
In 2007, Missouri hosted an NCAA Regional at Taylor Stadium for the first time in school history. That year, Jamieson was named the Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year. It was his second Conference Coach of the Year award, as he was named the Big Eight Coach of the Year in 1996 in his second campaign as the Tigers’ skipper. MU won the Big Eight regular season championship that year.
