Cardinals will retain coaching staff

October 15, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Cardinals will not only retain manager Tony LaRussa and pitching coach Dave Duncan, but it is expected the team will announce the entire bench staff returning for the 2009 season.

Expected back for next season are bench coach Joe Pettini, third base coach Jose Oquendo, first base coach Dave McKay, bullpen coach Marty Mason, hitting coach Hal McRae, and assistant hitting coach Mike Aldrete.

The one year extensions to all coaches matchup with the second of a two year deal Tony LaRussa signed prior to last season.
