Belgian brewer backs off Busch bid

October 15, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

InBev has backed off a little in its bid to buy Anheuser-Busch, but the company’s move isn’t expected to derail its purchase of the St. Louis brewer.

InBev, a Belgian brewer, has announced it has postponed its previously announced $10 Billion rights offering due to what InBev executives call "unprecedented volatility" in the global capital markets.

InBev insists nothing has changed. Its board will monitor the market to decide the right time to launch the rights offering again.
