It will be a near sell-out at the Scott Trade Center The baseball season is over for the Cardinals and Royals.  The Chiefs don’t even play this weekend and the Rams are on the road, plus they only have one win between the two of them.  How about some basketball or hockey.

If you live in the Kansas City area, you may want to check out NBA action.  The Portland Trailblazers will play the Atlanta Hawks at the Sprint Center, Friday night with a 7pm tip-off.  Here’s info if you want tickets.

Hockey fans in St. Louis are gearing up for another season.  Team owner Dave Checketts told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he expects a Stanley Cup within three years.  The Blues have a lot of young players and hockey is great to watch in person.  If you want to check out a hockey game soon, I’ve got ticket info right here.

The Blues open the 2008-09 season this Friday against the Nashville Predators.  Had Nashville not kept their hockey team, perhaps their season opener would have been in Kansas City instead of preseason NBA games.

The Sprint Center tried to lure the Preds to KC if their lease deal couldn’t get worked out with the city of Nashville.
