Chase Daniel expects a shootout Missouri Tiger Heisman hopeful Chase Daniel expects this Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State to be high scoring and could turn into a shootout.  Even though both teams run the spread offense, they go about it diffently, but yet there are a lot of similarities to draw from.

Two teams who seems so opposite are yet so alike.  The parallels are amazing, but the end result and how the teams got to where they are different.

First, both teams are undefeated at 5-0, 1-0.  Both teams run the spread offense.  Both teams have strong running games with quarterbacks who know how to pass to a great corp of receivers, and both teams have outstanding special team players and both teams have a defense that will give up some yards, yet manage to come up with big turnovers.

Yet, how they arrive at the records is a little different.  The Oklahoma State Cowboys will run the football and look for the big pass to break open a big game.  Their special teams return guy Dez Bryant is much like Jeremy Maclin.  Game changing speed who can return kicks or punts for touchdowns and the Cowboys will throw the ball to him, have him run reverses…much like J-Mac.  They also lead the Big 12 in time of possession.

For Daniel and the Tigers, it’s get the ball and score.  They have the second best average in the nation in scoring drives right around two minutes and rank in dead last in time of possession in the Big 12.

Daniel discusses this game as well as his relationship with next week’s opponent, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy who Daniel says is a good friend.
