Henry Harris scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 42 seconds left in regulation to lift Southeast Missouri State over Indiana State, 24-21, Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Southeast (2-3) covered 66 yards on eight plays in 2:39 during the game-winning drive. Houston Lillard completed a 30-yard pass to Walter Peoples three plays before Harris powered his way into the end zone. Miles Edwards added a 14-yard reception from Lillard to get down to the 1-yard line on the drive.

Philip Klaproth and Kendall Magana stopped Charles Dowdell short on third down to force a punt, giving the Redhawks the ball back with 3:21 left in the game.

Eddie Calvin broke up a long pass on fourth down to seal the win for Southeast.

Indiana State (0-4) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter behind short touchdown runs from Darrius Gates and Antoine Brown.

Southeast got on the board on a 1-yard sneak by quarterback Houston Lillard with 10:13 left in the first half. Doug Spada added the extra point to cut the lead in half at 14-7.

The score was set up by an 85-yard kickoff return by Jacob McKinley down to the Indiana State 10-yard line. The return marked the longest by a Southeast player since Romae Rucker returned a kick 85 yards for a touchdown at Tennessee State on Nov. 7, 2004.

Spada kicked a 35-yard field goal with 9:55 left in the third quarter to trim the margin to 14-10.

Lillard connected with Edwards for a 12-yard touchdown pass with 58 seconds left in the third quarter to give Southeast the lead for the first time. Spada added the extra point to give the Redhawks a 17-14 advantage. For Edwards, it was his team-leading third touchdown reception of the season.

Indiana State regained the lead on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Dowdell to Ryan Patrick with 10:46 left in regulation. With the extra point, the Sycamores pulled ahead at 21-17. Both defenses held prior to the Redhawks game-winning drive.

Southeast earned 14 first downs in the second half to spark the comeback.

Harris registered his first career 100-yard game on 24 carries. He has now scored in all three games of his Southeast career. He broke loose down the middle of the field for a career-long 32-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Lillard finished 10-for-19 passing for 155 yards. He has passed for 1,257 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. His rushing score Saturday was his first since scoring on a similar play at Missouri State on Nov. 10, 2007.

Peoples led all receivers with five receptions for 98 yards. He ran his season totals to 29 catches for 340 yards. Edwards caught two passes for 26 yards, including the score. Both of his grabs came at crucial points in the game.

Vincent Anderson and Kendall Magana paced the defense with nine tackles each. Anderson added a fumble recovery that was forced by Nick Stauffer. Nick Ketelsleger added seven tackles for the second consecutive week.

Spada, who came into the game second in the nation in punting, averaged 43 yards per punt with a season-long 65-yard boot.

Calvin returned a kickoff 56 yards in the first quarter. The Redhawks averaged 49 yards per kick return on the afternoon.

Southeast returns to Ohio Valley Conference play next Saturday at Jacksonville State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. central time in Alabama.
