There will be skiing in Eastern Missouri this winter, despite the controversy between the city of Wildwood and Hidden Valley Golf and Ski.

General Manager Bill Brandes says nothing will change for skiers this winter.

"Under the President’s and the CEO’s order to make sure we’re going into snow operations for this season," said Bill Brandes, General Manager at Hidden Valley Golf and Ski. "We’ll see how the talks continue or if there’s any progress for the long haul, but we’re definitely weather permitting and the good Lord permitting going to be open for skiing and snowboarding this winter."

Wildwood Mayor Tim Woerther said he wants to continue talks with Hidden Valley owners and hopes they can come to an agreement that will keep the resort open for future seasons.

"No body wants to see Hidden Valley close," he said. "There’s certainly significant public support for it. I support it. I think it’s worthwhile, it’s great resource to the area, to the region as a whole."

Bottom line, no matter what happens between the two sides come frost the slopes will be open.
