Bond tells colleagues they must act quickly on financial crisis

September 25, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Senator Bond says Congress must act quickly to approve a financial rescue package and restore confidence in the American financial system.

Bond tells colleagues during a Senate floor speech that America is facing a financial crisis and says that if Congress doesn’t act, the financial system will be pinched further. Bond has taken to the Senate floor, stating that any rescue plan must include accountability, oversight and transparency, which he calls Main Street values.

Bi-partisan negotiations should replace partisan shots in the press, says Bond. He says Republicans and Democrats need to come together in agreement with the Bush Administration on a version of the $700 billion plan in order to avert a financial collapse.
