After last week’s loss to Oakland, Chiefs running back Larry Johnson said he needed 25-30 carries per game to be good.  Well, Johnson got the ball 24 times and rushed for 121 yards and one score, but it wasn’t enough to get past the rookie quarterback Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons losing 38-14.

Falcons running back Michael Turner ran for three touchdowns and the Falcons scored the first 24 points of the game before Tyler Thigpen led the Chiefs on a 13 play scoring drive to score with :03 left in the first half.

Thigpen threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Dwayne Bowe.   The Chiefs got it going in the second half, when Johnson ran 48 yards down to one, then later took it in from there to close to 24-14.  Atlanta came right back to score, but the Chiefs got the ball back on a fumbled midway through the fourth quarter and drove down to the Falcons’ two where Johnson was stuffed on fourth down.

Thigpen was 14 of 36 for 128 yards and a touchdown, but go picked off three times including one late in the game that led to another Falcon touchdown.

The Chiefs have now lost 12 straight games.
