The Royals are on a roll.  After Gil Meche surrendered two runs in the first to Seattle, he settled down on Ryan Shealy helped kick start the offense with his third game in a row with a home run.

Shealy is on fire.  He hit his sixth home run in 10 games, with his shot getting the Royals on the board with two outs in the fourth.  The Royals grabbed the lead in the seventh, scoring three unearned runs after Esteban German reached on an infield error.  With the bases loaded, Mike Aviles grounded out bringing in the tying run, and then Jose Guillen delivered a two out single off Roy Corcoran.

With two outs in the eighth, John Buck doubled and scored on Alberto Callapso’s single to pad a three run lead for Joakim Soria to pick up his 40 th save.

Seattle’s Ichiro went 3 for 3, as he picked up his 200 th hit of the year for the 8 th straight season.
