Cards drop third straight game

September 13, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louis lost their third game in a row, and although mathematically still alive for this year’s playoffs, Albert Pujols might want to move up that offseason elbow surgery he has been thinking about.

The Pirates destroyed the Cards 10-2 last night, anchored by the performance of their left-handed pitcher Paul Maholm.

He tossed eight innings of two-run ball, and St. Louis failed to come up with an answer for him.

Joel Pineiro (6-6) took the loss for the Redbirds.
