The Royals were officially eliminated from post-season contention after dropping their second straight game to the Twins in Minnesota by a final of 7-1.  Kevin Slowey continued to dominate the Royals.

After lead off singles by Mike Aviles and Alberto Callapso to start the game, the Royals were only able to manage one run off of Twins starter Kevin Slowey.  That came on a sacrifice fly by David DeJesus.

After the first inning, Slowey held the Royals to two hits over his seven innings of work. Slowey is now 3-0 on the year against the Royals with a 1.25 ERA.

As far as Royals’ starter Kyle Davies, his pitch count ran up to 109 through 5.2 innings as he gave up four runs.
