Cleveland’s Cliff Lee moved to 21-2 on the year, and a perfect 4-0 against the Royals as he pitched 7.1 allowing just one run as the Indians beat the Royals 3-1.
Zach Greinke didn’t do too shabby either, allowing just three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings, but the day belong to Lee.
In four starts this year against the Royals, Lee has pitched 29.1 innings and has given up just eight runs, seven earned to go undefeated against Kansas City. Victor Martinez, Cleveland’s DH went 2 for 3 and drove in all three runs against Greinke.
The Royals have Monday off before heading to Minnesota for a mid week series with the Twins.
