MU hoops to host open gym on Saturday

September 4, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Mizzou Basketball will host its first open gym of the 2008-09 season on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. prior to the Tiger Football home-opener against Southeast Missouri.  Admission to the open gym is free to the general public and doors on the north side of Mizzou Arena (Faurot Field / Ticket Office side) will be the most convenient way to enter the facility.

Missouri Basketball enjoyed a perfect 3-0 record during last weekend’s Canadian Tour. DeMarre Carroll (20 points in Game 1), Marcus Denmon (23 points in Game 2) and Leo Lyons (20 points in Game 3) each led Mizzou in scoring with 20-point performances, while newcomer Zaire Taylor and junior guard J.T. Tiller combined for 27 steals.

Missouri enjoyed a 35.3 point average margin of victory in the three contests, opening with a 120-80 win over the Ontario All-Stars on Aug. 30, a 117-68 win over defending Canadian National Champion Brock University on Aug. 31 and a 109-92 win over the Southern Ontario All-Stars on Sept. 1.
