Chiefs getting healthier, ready for NE test

September 4, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards said rookie tackle Branden Albert took every snap in practice and former Tiger Will Franklin practiced for the first time just two weeks after knee surgery.

Franklin says he’s 80-85%, and he surprised not only the coaches but himself with how quickly his knee responded.  However, my guess is don’t expect to see him this weekend against New England.  He confessed he was tired admitting that NFL speed is much different than running on a treadmill.

As far as Albert he’s going to need to play whether he’s ready or not.  He’s getting his first action in about four weeks.  Albert admits, he don’t know how prepared he’ll be moving over to left tackle, but he’s going to get on the job training ASAP.

On defense we’ll get a good look at Glenn Dorsey and cornerback Brandon Flowers who plays with a lot of confidence.   Both Dorsey and Flowers are ready to get started and are not concerned about playing New England right out of the gate.
