A controversial Neo-Nazi group will not march in Mid-Missouri on Saturday, November 8th as they wanted, but they could hold the march and rally on another day.

Interim Columbia Police Chief Tom Dresner rejected an assembly permit application from the National Socialist Movement. The group applied for a parade and special event permit for the same Saturday as the University of Missouri home football game against Kansas State University. The game requires heavy law enforcement presence, said Dresner and there is not enough man power to cover both the game and the National Socialist Movement event at the same time.

The group can resubmit the assembly permit application for a different day.

In March 2007, the National Socialist Movement held a march on the University of Missouri campus sparking a number of protests and conflicts, leading to numerous arrests.
