Eckstein batting second against Cardinals

September 1, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

David Eckstein was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Arizona Diamondbacks right before the September 1st trade deadline.  He will be batting second and playing second base for the D-backs when they play the Cards today.

The D-backs picked up Eckstein after their regular second baseman Orlando Hudson hurt his wrist and will be out for the year.  Arizona is 2.5 games ahead of Los Angeles in the NL West.

Since Eckstein just made it over to the team, he is staying at the same hotel as the Cardinals and rode over to the ballpark with Russ Springer and Ryan Franklin.
