One of Missouri’s biggest tourist draws is hoping to end its summer season on a high note. Branson tourism officials are hoping people who still don’t have Labor Day weekend plans will consider visiting there. Officials with the Branson Convention and Visitors Bureau are expecting the steady flow of summer tourists to increase for the holiday weekend.

"We do expect to see a little up tick with folks making that last ditch effort to get away before the real start of school," said Spokesman Lynn Berry with the Branson CVB.

The pleasant forecast will likely mean more people visiting the area than during the last two holiday weekends, she said.

"Here in the Mid-West the weather and the significant spring rain fall surely slowed our visitors coming in 2008, but we’re expecting a great weekend with Labor Day," Berry said.

Current tourism numbers indicate Branson tourism is down just slightly from last year’s record year.
