Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee  Barack Obama (D-IL) wraps up the Missouri leg of his battleground states tour on the way to the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Obama spoke to workers, Tuesday, at the American Airlines overhaul base near Kansas City International Airport.  Hundreds of the American Airlines workers are facing layoffs.

Obama spoke of his economic plans, including a proposal for a middle-class $1,000 tax rebate.  He also talked up his plans for national health care and a new energy policy that focuses a great deal on renewable resources.

After leaving Kansas City, Obama traveled to Billings, Montana – the last stop before he heads to Denver where he will accept the Democratic Party nomination for President on Thursday night.
