Here’s a quick thumbnail of the results of yesterdays statewide primary election:

Congressman Kenny Hulshof finishes about 17,800 votes ahead of state Treasurer Sarah Steelman, winning the right to run against Democrat Jay Nixon for the governorship in November.

Representative Sam Page finishes well ahead of five other Democrats for the chance to unseat incumbent Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder.

Representative Clint Zweifel of Florissant wins the Democratic primary for State Treasurer. He’ll face Senator Brad Lager in November.

Chris Koster and Margaret Donnelly might need a recount to determine who won the race for the democratic nomination for Attorney General. Koster is shown with an 852 vote lead, out of about 45-thousand votes cast.

Secretary of state candidates Robin Carnahan and Mitch Hubbard had no competition in their primaries.

The Ninth Congressional District nominations went to Blaine Luetkemeyer on the Republican side and to Representative Judy Baker on the Democrat side.
