Luetkemeyer defeats Onder in 9th Congressional District

August 6, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

By just under 6,000 votes, Blaine Luetkemeyer defeats Bob Onder for the Republican nomination in the 9th Congressional District.  Onder called Luetkemeyer around 10 pm and conceded the race, and shortly after, a victory peech was delivered.

Luetkemeyer singled out Nancy Pelosi more than once in his speech, claiming that she does not have the leadership to lead the House of Representatives.  He believes his nomination is the first step in ousting people like her.  Luetkemeyer also recognized the need for unity within the Republican party in light of the tough race ahead of him against Democrat Judy Baker.
