Ken Griffey, Jr. singled in Chicago’s first two runs, and helped the visiting Sox up-end the Royals 4-2 Friday night.

Griffey was acquired from Cincinnati on Thursday, before the trade deadline hit that afternoon, and so far, so good for the future-Hall-of-Famer.  He roped a pair of singles in three at-bats, and gave Chicago the defensive centerfielder they have been looking for.

Javier Vazquez (8-9) limited Kansas City to a pair of runs in his six innings, while the Chicago bullpen cleaned up, as Bobby Jenks earned his 22nd save.

Luke Hochevar (6-9) took the loss for the Royals.
