While the quarterback situation is St. Louis is already locked, there is still a lot of focus on how well Bulger will play this season and if he can really lead this team.  There’s also a good battle going on for the third and final spot.

Brad Gradkowski comes over from the QB log jam in Tampa Bay to fight the incumbent Brock Berlin for the third string role.  Head coach Scott Linehan said the competition between the two has gone well.  "It’s going very good, both guys are getting pretty much equal reps and both really have some nice attributes about their game. We’re going to do a little scrimmage this Saturday. That’ll be really the start of it and the true evaluation when it comes to how they’re going to play in game-like situations. There are going to be plenty of snaps in preseason."

One of Bulgers key targets this year is receiver Drew Bennett who has been held back a bit in practices, but is finally coming around from early bumps and bruises.  Linehan said, "We just kept him out. He was pretty sore and we just kind of go on how guys feel and respond to treatment. He felt much better this morning so, it was a one-a-day, so he was able to get a lot of work done."

There is no doubt that Bennett feels Bulger is the right guy to lead this team.  Bennett says Bulger is throwing well this summer and his leadership can’t be questioned.  Bulger demands the most out of his teammates and Bennett says Bulger has an easy way of getting his point across.
