Zach Greinke struck out a career high 11 batters as the Royals beat the A’s 4-2.  Greinke in 22 starts has 125 strikeouts, already nine better than his career high in 2005.

That season, when Greinke started 33 games, he finished with 114.  Greinke is now fifth in the American League in strikeouts.

The Royals got their offense from Jose Guillen, who hit a two run homer in the first, his 14th of the year.  Then Alex Gordon followed with his 12th of the season, another two run homer off A’s starter Dallas Braden.

Joakim Soria closed the game out for Greinke’s 8th win with his 28th save.
