On his sixth attempt, Cardinals starter Braden Looper finally got to 10 wins on the year thanks to plenty of offensive support in a 12-3 win at Atlanta.  Looper went 7 innings giving up two runs on seven hits with no walks.

It was a well balanced attack for the Cardinal bats as they tagged Braves starter Charlie Morton with 8 runs in 3.2 innings.  Joe Mather led the team going 3 for 5 with a double and a home run.

The Cardinals stay four back behind the Cubs, but move to within two of Milwaukee after the Cubs beat the Brewers.

Other side notes, the Cardinals are moving Jason Isrinhausen back into the closers role and Adam Wainwright is about two weeks away from coming back.  The Cardinals tight lipped on whether he’ll return to the rotation or go to the bullpen.
