While the 2-5 homestand wasn’t what they wanted, the Royals end on a high note winning 6-1 and splitting the four game series with the Tampa Bay Rays.  Billy Butler led the attack with four RBI.

Butler put the game out of reach with a three run homer off the left field fair poul in the 7th inning to give Kyle Davies his fourth win of the year.  Davies allowed just one earned run, but was bailed out by Ron Mahay who helped pitch out of a sticky situation in the 6th.

After Davies gave up a lead off walk, single and double, Mahay came on to get the next three batters and leave the tying runs stranded at second and third with the score tied 3-1.
