Pelfrey pitches Mets past Cards

July 26, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Perhaps the Cardinals thought a change of scenery would enable them to escape their recent funk?

With that said, last night’s 7-2 loss to the Mets shattered any notion that this team could survive without an upgrade, especially to the pitching staff.

Mike Pelfrey (9-6) scattered seven hits over seven innings of work to earn the win.  It was his second in as many games against St. Louis this year.

Rookie Mitchell Boggs (3-2) took the loss for the Redbirds.  He sports a 7.36 ERA after this, his latest beating.
