Supreme Court sets execution date in Lafayette County killing

July 25, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Supreme Court has set a date for the execution of Dennis Skillicorn , who was found guilty of first-degree murder in a 1994 killing near Higginsville in Lafayette County.

Skillicorn and an accomplice kidnapped Richard Drummond, an AT&T technical support supervisor, who saw the two stranded on the side of the road and offered to drive them to get help. Sometime during the kidnapping the decision was made to kill Drummond.

Skillicorn’s accomplice, Allen Nicklasson, shot Drummond twice in the head, killing the man. Skillicorn has gone through numerous appeals. The State Supreme Court has now determined Skillicorn should be executed by lethal injection on Wednesday, August 27th.
