Royals swept by Tigers

July 24, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals are happy to see Detroit leave, after Tigers’ starter Armando Galarraga had a no-hitter through six innings as the Royals get swept after a 7-1 loss yesterday afternoon.

David DeJesus singled to lead off the seventh breaking up the no-hitter.  Galarraga said it was too early to start thinking about it, but it was certainly on the mind of Royals’ manager Trey Hillman.

Royals’ starter Zach Greinke struck out eight hitters in his six innings of work, but Detroit jumped on him early scoring five times in the first three innings.

As far as Galarraga, he tossed seven innings, giving up just the one run on three hits and a walk while striking out seven.
