Rams sign Mr. Irrelevant

July 22, 2008 By Bill Pollock Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with 2008 seventh-round draft choice LB David Vobora, the team announced today.

Vobora , 6-1, 238, from the University of Idaho, was selected with the 252 nd overall choice, the final selection in the NFL Draft. Known as Mr. Irrelevant, the name given to the final selection of the NFL Draft, Vobora was the second of two seventh-round selections by the Rams.

Vobora earned first team All-Western Athletic Conference honors as a senior in 2007 after posting 148 tackles and 1.0 sack.  The 148 tackles ranked third in the NCAA and were the fourth-highest single-season total in WAC history.

Vobora joins first-round choice Chris Long, third-round choice John Greco, fourth-round choice Keenan Burton, fifth-round choice Roy Schuening and seventh-round choice Chris Chamberlain as having signed or agreed to terms.

Donnie Avery (2) and Justin King (4A) are unsigned.
