Zach Greinke is now 0-6 for his career at U.S. Cellular field on the southside of Chicago at the White Sox beat the Royals 9-5.  The Royals were without LF Jose Guillen who had back spasms.

It was a much different pitching matchup than the one just a little more than a week ago when the White Sox were in Kansas City.  In that game Greinke struck out eight and allowed one run over seven innings.  Friday night was a different story.

Greinke gave up seven straight singles and hit a batter en route to a six run first inning for the Sox.  All-star Carlos Quentin then homered off Greinke in the second inning and three innings is all Greinke would finish.

DH Billy Butler was the lone bright spot for the Royals as he hit a three run homer and drove in another run to cap the night with 4 RBI.

Guillen is day to day after taking too much batting practice over the break.  His back tightened up on him and manager Trey Hillman hopes to have him back by Saturday’s game.
