Schriewer wins amateur golf championship

Chelsea Schriewer a senior to be at the University of Missouri battled back from five strokes down to win the 70th MWGA Women’s Amateur Championship on Thursday at  Osage National Golf Resort.

Ellen Port of St. Louis was the leader after the second day, but saw her five shot lead erased after the front nine.  Schriewer shot three under 70 to finish the tournament at four over, 220.  Port shot 76 the last round to finish one shot back at 221.  Kelly Osborne of Ballwin recovered after a tough second round 79 to finish third, nine shots back.
