The personal information of about 20 percent of the members of the Missouri National Guard might have been compromised. The Guard says a laptop computer was taken yesterday in Columbia.

The Guard says it is notifying all members whose information is in question. A toll-free hotline has been set up for people with questions but Guard spokesman Jamie Melchert says people should call only if they get a letter and have questions. Melchert says the Columbia Police Department is investigating the case as a criminal matter. Apparently one person is under scrutiny. The hotline number is 888-526-6664 extension 7888.  Deployed members can use the Defense Switching Network at 312-555-9500, extension 7888.  Again, the Guard requests that calls only be made by people receiving notification letters and only if they have questions.
