Two former Truman State football players were sentenced to probation last week which stems from guilty pleads to felony assault charges from a December 2005 incident.

Joshua Kilcrease and Paul Darby admitted to assaulting Theodore Tarrant of Kirksville, MO in a parking lot.  Tarrant was hospitalized with a broken jaw and other injuries.

As part of the probation agreement, Kilcrease and Darby must complete a substance abuse evaluation, take random drug tests, and complete community service.  In addition to the terms laid out by Judge Hadley Grimm of the Macon County Circuit Court, they must also pay Tarrant $12,403 in restitution.

The Adair County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Williams told the Kirksville Daily Express he was unhappy with the judge’s decision.
