Luke Hochevar matched Felix Hernandez and then some yesterday.

After a 3-1 Royals victory, the young starter called it the best outing of his career.  Hochevar went seven innings and allowed just one run on five hits by staying aggressive in the strike zone and pitching to both sides of the plate.

Hernandez was making his first start since coming off the disabled list with a sprained ankle, but he looked in tip-top form, holding KC to three runs in five innings while striking out 8.

The Royals finally got to the big right-hander in the fifth, when a Joey Gathright RBI single and a David DeJesus 2-run double did all the damage KC would need.
