Missouri Western State University head baseball coach Charles "Buzz" Verduzco has announced the signing of 17 junior college and high school student-athletes to the 2008 National Letter of Intent.

The Missouri Western Griffons had another successful baseball season in 2008 as they finished with a 25-24 overall record and 22-14 record in the MIAA. The Griffons earned the #3 seed and a post season appearance in the MIAA Conference tournament for the fourth time in the past six seasons. The Griffons have won twenty or more games in eight straight years and earned its first ever bid to the regional tournament in 2006.

The Griffons will have to replace 12 senior student athletes which completed their eligibility in the 2008 season. The Griffons have signed 14 junior college players and three high school players.

"We are very excited about our 2008 recruiting class. We had many seniors to replace from last year’s squad and we feel fortunate to have these new young men be a part of our program," commented Coach Verduzco.
