Mark Mulder (Bill Greenblatt, UPI) The Cardinals will move Mark Mulder to the starting rotation and will make his first start either Wednesday or Thursday at Philadelphia.  Mulder has made two relief appearances and manager Tony LaRussa feels Mulder is ready to contribute as a starter.

In two relief appearances, Mulder pitched mop up in a 7-1 win over the Mets at the opening of this recent homestand.  He gave up two soft hits and struck out one.  Two nights later in an 8-7 comeback win, Mulder got hit with a blown save, giving up two runs on two hits in a third of an inning.

To make room for Mulder in the rotation, the Cardinals sent Mitchell Boggs back down to Memphis who was 3-1 as a starter, when Cesar Izturis was activated from the disabled list.
