Is this last Fourth of July with Bud as "America’s Beer?"

July 4, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

As Americans celebrate the Fourth of July, some Missourians are concerned this might the last Independence Day that sees people drinking products made by St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch. Anheuser-Busch will be around a year from now, selling Budweiser and other brands of beer, but the company might not be based in St. Louis. It could be part of Belgium-based InBev, which is trying to purchase AB.

Ed Martin, Governor Matt Blunt’s former Chief of Staff, spearheads the effort to keep Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis. And, he’s doing it through a website – SaveAB.com , which is collecting petition signatures to present to the AB Board of Directors.

Martin and company have already staged one rally in St. Louis, with another scheduled for tomorrow that starts at Al Hrabosky’s Ballpark Saloon, a block or so away from Busch Stadium, and makes its way to the ballpark.
