Royals sweep the Rox with 4-2 win

June 26, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals climbed out of last place in the American League Central by sweeping the Colorado Rockies with a 4-2 win.  The win moves the Royals to 12-3 against the National League.

Starting pitcher Luke Hochevar dominated the Rockies going with his longest outing of the season, going 8 innings while allowing just two runs. Ross Gload went 3 for 3 and drove in two runs raising his average to .261.

Hochevar who grew up cheering for the Rockies says it was a thrill to pitch against some of the players he watched while he was growing up.  Joakim Soria pitched the 9th for his 21st save.
