Bardgett wins state amateur golf title

Justin Bardgett of Chesterfield beat out Skip Berkmeyer in the final round of the Missouri State Amateur Golf Championship at Wing Haven Country Club.

Bardgett won the oldest match play championship in the state on the amateur level beat Berkmeyer 8 and 6.

Bardgett, a state high school champ in 2004, joins players such as Payne Stewart and Tom Watson as having won this trophy.  Bardgett came into the tournament seeded 56 th and beat out the favorite Berkmeyer who is regarded as one of the best amateurs in the state.
