Yadier Molina hit a three run homer in a four run first inning and Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse sat through two rain delays totaling two hours and 40 minutes to pick up  the win in a 6-1 final at Washington.

Molina and the Cardinals jumped on former KC pitcher Odalis Perez with four runs in the first inning.

Brian Barton led the game off by getting hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a fielder’s choice when Albert Pujols beat out an infield single and was battling through a sore left calf.  Ryan Ludwick would double to score Barton and score along with Pujols on Molina’s home run as Yadi’s average is up to .295.  Any bonus offense from the best defensive catcher in the league is a big plus.

Kyle Lohse helped his cause by singling in a run, but pitched through two rain delays to get through five innings allowing just four hits and a run on his way to his sixth win.  Four relievers combined for four scoreless innings.

Back to Pujols, he came out of the game as he struggled with is left calf.  After the game, there was no word on how bad the injury is or what Albert’s availability will be tonight.
