June 2, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Head Coach Jack Schrader has announced that Brandon Griffin, Andrew James, Brian Nwelue and Jesse Schrader will join the Truman men’s basketball team for the 2008-09 season.

Brandon Griffin (6-3, 195 lbs/Lewisville, Texas) will transfer from Seminole State College (Okla.) where he was a part of a squad that went 21-9 last season.  Griffin averaged just over four points a contest and two rebounds last season.

Brian Nwelue (6-5, 205 lbs/Lewisville, Texas) will join his high school teammate from Lewisville after spending the past season at Grayson County (Texas) junior college.  Nwelue was a district and regional defensive player of the year at Lewisville, while averaging 10 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per game.

Andrew James (6-7, 230 lbs/Eureka, Mo.) will transfer from Missouri University of Science and Technology.  James started eight of 26 games and averaged just under 20 minutes per game to go along with his 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest.

Jesse Schrader (6-4, 190 lbs/La Plata, Mo.) was a member of three Tri-County Conference champions at La Plata High School.  The Bulldogs advanced to the MSHSAA Class 1 Final Four during his junior year and advanced to the state quarterfinals his senior season.
