A day after St. Dominic scored 19 runs in one inning to earn a berth in the state title game, the Crusaders won their first baseball title winning the Class 3 championship game 8-0 over Webb City.

Kyle Kiely pitched the complete game shutout for St. Dominic.  Tony Schulte, who picked up the first win on Friday in the semi-finals also played centerfield hitting 5 for 7 with 8 RBI, 3 runs, and one walk.

After the Crusader’s victory, Steve Pfund, the team’s head coach for the last twelve years announced to his players that he would be leaving the school to coach at his alma-mater of Luthern South just outside St. Louis.

In the Class 4 final, Ozark claimed their second state title beating Francis Howell 3-2 .  Pitcher Matt Jordan went 3 for 3 with an RBI at the plate en route to picking up his 5th win of the year, pitching the complete game.
